Personal Testimony

I just wanna give you a little description about my former life before I came to Christ and want to tell you that if God can change my life he can change yours to. I was struggling an addiction to alcohol i was a functioning drunk. I kept a job and would go to work but after that and especially on the weekends i would be so bent over and drunk, obnoxious, and out of order. I would be game to do anything but I didn't care to do other drugs I just love to drink. To enhance the feeling I would not eat my beer was my breakfast and cigarettes black and milds would cater to high as well. On the weekend I would wake up with a drink and go to sleep with a drink and that was from Friday to late Sunday night. I was so impaired at some times that I would do anything with any women regardless of look weight or height. Me and my boys would go and chill sometimes we got in trouble with the cops sometimes we got into confrontations with other people. In those days I was not afraid to die or kill someone. I remember I almost choked a guy to death for saying he was going to kill my baby before it was born. I remember getting in to beefs and people pulling out guns to shoot and I would still be walking up on them not being afraid if they were going to shoot to me. My boys had to pull me back like I was crazy or like I had a death wish. I use to wild out and do stupid things when I was under the influence. I had no limitations and so I would go beyond the limit physically and legally. I crashed a couple of vehicles and one crash was on a busy freeway and the only thing I hit was the wall and no other cars. I would say that I was living pretty ruthless and reckless at the time and thats why Im saying now that I should have been dead.  But God spared me and he had a plan for me and I began to see the light in the next section that I explain.

Well there was a woman that I met and this woman went to church. She went to church and she let her lifestyle speak for itself even as we dated for a short while. Oh her name is Chytia and she would invite me to church and when I didnt agree to go she would not beat the Bible over my head, but she would invite me every 2 or 3 weeks to church. I would say no not today me and the fellas are going to be watching the football game and drinking beer and Tia would say well I`ll see you later and I still love you. She did not condemn me she would just show love as Christ would do with anyone. She would share certain things with me about church, what was preached, and even read the bible with me. She would go to church often she was in the choir she went to Bible class she went to various outings and she also stayed for both services. Tia was and is very dedicated and I have seen that she didn't let anything get in her way from going to the place of worship. One Saturday night she asked me will I go to church with her in the morning and I said yes because I used to go to church when I was younger. My grandmother use to take me all the time so I know what church is about and I know who God is and I believe in God. So I went to church that day and the Pastor is very down to earth and he was speaking to the men and this wasn't even the actual sermon that captivated me but this was him opening the doors of the church to come and receive Jesus. So he talked to the man and he said you men have it huh all you got your money, driving nice cars, a big house and you pulling up your pants like you`re the head of household like you are the man and he said as he looked over the congregation he said real men love Jesus my jaw dropped because I thought I was a real man. After that I kept going to church but over the course of about 3 weeks I was reading the Bible and learning different things and it stuck with me it convicted me and one day that Saturday night I made it up in my my that when I go to church Sunday that I was going to recommit my life back to Christ and I did just that. Shortly after I rededicated my life back to Christ my old habits and things of that nature started to fall off. I use to be a very heavy drinker, I was actually an alcoholic and I went to the store one day after work. Chytia would ask me you`re going to the store to get something to drink huh and I would say yes I worked hard all week and I want a drink. But yet again she did not fight me on it or condemn me. I went to the store and I asked the store clerk I knew him very well because I was always drinking and I asked him if he had anything new to drink he said no so I went to the back to the cooler to look in see what I want it I was very indecisive i was never indecisive, I stood there for about 15 minutes. I went back to the store clerk and ask him are you sure you don`t have anything new and he said no so I went back to the cooler and I just said okay I`m just going to go ahead and get me a couple of 40 ounces of beer and I did. I took them home and I started to drink 1 of them and 1 of them tasted a bit nasty as if it was outdated so I said ok well maybe if I start drinking the other 1 that I will get a buzz and then this would not taste so nasty so i drunk it almost Midway and that one tasted the same as the other one. After that I knew I was convicted in my spirit. The Holy spirit made my body reject the alcohol I poured that beer out that day and I knew right then and there that I was delivered the Lord Jesus had took the taste of beer and everything else that I use to do out of my mouth. And I have not had any alcohol since then. I have fully delivered from alcohol and the abuse of any other narcotic or nicotine. Not to mention that the same woman that let her lifestyle speak for itself and shed her light about Jesus Christ the one that stuck by my side is the woman that I`ve been married to since March 1st of 2003.

Internal Surgery

First I want to give honor to God for allowing me to be able to be here and for allowing me to be a vehicle to bring forth this message.

The scriptures I will be siting from are Psalm 51:10,17 and Galatians 5:19-25

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Galatians 5:19-25  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

I am speaking from the subject Internal Surgery.

When something is wrong with us such as a sickness or a virus we normally try to remedy it the best way we know how. We might even try some home remedies that have been passed to us along the way. Sometimes those home remedies wont work and we need to see a Doctor to find out what is wrong. The Doctor usually checks our vital signs and if needed will run a series of tests to give you the correct diagnosis. The Doctor gives you the diagnosis and tells you that it is nothing more than the Flu virus and gives you instructions on what to do to nurse yourself back to health. You discover that the prescription the Physician gave you is not working and you are getting no better. You receive a phone call from the Doctors office and they tell you that you are in need of another test because they found something else wrong but dont quite know what it is. After they ran the test you are then informed that you need to see a specialist and their is nothing that can be done by a normal Physician.  That specialist informs you that you need to have Internal Surgery.

[Note] I want to let you know that sometimes our physical condition runs parallel with our spiritual condition

Now let me summarize this for you from a spiritual perspective. You felt sick and or unusually bad and you tried to fix it yourself but it didnt work. Some of those remedies that you tried at home actually gave you the understanding that you need more than just those home remedies in this case you need more than just prayer. Which indeed led you to the place which is the church where you needed to get your check up.  You've been given your routine check ups from the   Physician which in this case is the Pastor delivering the message unto you. The word of God is the tool that he used to give you your check ups and  to run the tests.  The diagnosis has been given to you indicating that you need to see a specialist and their is nothing more that the Pastor can do but show you how to get to him.

I want to turn your attention to the specialist that will perform your surgery that specialist is Jesus Christ.

Jesus says that you need a clean up on the inside. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Jesus is saying that there is more to be done you are broken on the inside, your spirit is broken, your heart is remorseful and broken and he says I will not despise it. Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

[Note] Just like you have to prepare for surgery getting your mind and body ready. Willing to go through the surgical process is the same as submitting and being willing to let Jesus operate on you.

Jesus begins to operate on you and he is cutting, trimming, and stripping away those things you dont need on the inside. Galatians 5:19-21  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

After your operation you will be instructed to follow some guidelines that will help you not to make yourself vulnerable that could put you back into that infected state that you were once in. Here are your instructions Galatians 5:22-25 the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Everybody needs to see the specialist everyone of us has a need for Jesus the Savior. We all have some things to change, to be delivered from and to work on. Let Jesus operate on your mind and on your heart. Let him transform your life.
To those who have not accepted Christ it is not to late you can accept him right now. You must know that you are a sinner and repent asking for forgiveness with a remorseful heart. You must confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ came to earth as a man to die on the cross for your sins. That he rose on the third day and that he is the only one that has the power to save you and will save you.

If you dont know what to say here are some helpful words. Say Jesus I come to you as a sinner and I ask you to forgive me for my sins for everything that I have done against your will. Wash me and cleanse me purify my heart Lord and make me whole. Jesus I confess and believe in my heart that you died on the cross for my sins and you are the one who can save me. I believe that you rose on the third day and I want you to come into my heart Lord I want a relationship with you.

For those who may have walked away who are in a backslidden state it is not to late for you either the same goes for you to you can recommit yourself right now.

If you have accepted Jesus into your life just now then praise God for what he has done. Now you need to let someone know what you have done and Go to a church to let one of the leaders there know so that you will have some guidance because this is not a walk that you should do on your own.
If need be you can email me www.calvaryrecords@live.com or call me at
734-776-5095 I would love to hear about your new life with Christ.

Learning from the wilderness

I want to share something with you today that hopefully will lift up your spirit, that will give you confidence to keep pressing on. I have been reading one of my books that I got from college in 2010 called Courages Faith and I ran across this passage that is subtitled learning from the wilderness.

When I turned forty, I went through the wilderness time in my life. I had been

incredibly successful. throughout my twenties and thirties. Like many young

people I thought it would last forever. But 1 day it all changed. I found myself

struggling to find God's direction for the future. The months that followed with

difficult and painful. I saw God's direction but it did not come. I want to take

him to work it out for me. But he wanted to work on me. Time passed. I kept

insisting but God I kept waiting. Though I didn't realize it at the time. He was

working so that I would be ready when his call came. After nearly 2 years of

waiting God opened a wonderful door of opportunity for our family. It meant a

lot of changes a move ,a new town, new people, a new church, and new

responsibilities. It was a new beginning and I loved it! Suddenly my pain was

gone. The desert begin to blossom. Yet got was there all the time guiding our steps.

You may be at 1 of those wilderness points in your life. Don't give up! And

whatever you do don't blame God. He is there with you every step of the way

even when he is silent. Remember what he was doing while the Israelites were

in bondage? He saw their plight. He heard their cries. and he will rescue you too

when he is finished preparing you.

When failure comes your way remember:

1. To fail is to be fully human. God is aware of your limitations. True success is not avoiding failure, but learning what to do with it.

2. To fail is not to be a failure. Babe Ruth is remembered  for his home runs but he also set the record for the most strikeouts.

3.No one is a failure until he stops trying. Thomas Edison made over 5000 steps before he finally invented the light bulb that work

4. Failure is never final if you get up 1 more time make you fall down. The fear of failure is far greater than the failure itself if you failed admitted and start over focus on your future not your past.

Perhaps things have not gone well, and you are in obscurity. This is not the end.It is only a process. It will lead to greater things. You may have lost a position of leadership, been demoted to another job, taken a pay cut or all of the above.Or perhaps everything is going great right now. You may be riding the wave of success. May I remind you : When you are up have a heart for those who are down. Reach down and lift them up . When they are up and your down they can reach down and lift you up as well. Believe it or not most of us can survive failure. The greatest temptation of all is dealing with success.

Moses is an incredible example for us. He was born in poverty, raised in
prosperity, sent to obscurity, and returned in victory. What made the difference? He met God in the wilderness. After the burning bush he knew that he was no longer alone. God was with him. God made all the difference. And he has promised to do the same for you.

It goes a long way

What do you do when you see another person sad, depressed, or broken. Do you say stop with your wallowing and weeping. Dry your tears up get up and keep it moving. I am certainly not a fan of anyone who tells me those things. But you need to have some discernment to know when to light a fire up under someone to give them a push or to comfort them in there time of desperation or dispair wether they are a Christian or not you need to know the real issue at hand before you make a judgement call.  I am not a writer of books or blogs or anything in that format. I write and compose music that ministers to the very spirit. While others write inspirationally to empower and motivate others mine is music.  I write music that comes from my very heart and spirit. I write songs in the moment when something good happened or when something didn't go right at all.  A lot of my music I write is for the broken hearted, for the lost, for the one
who is in a state of mind to give up. I write music like that because I have been there to. I have been in that place when you feel useless and alone even in the house with my wife I felt that all the skills that I had when
we first got married I dont have anymore. For the last 5 yrs I have not been able to find that one full time job.
Instead Its been either 1 or 2 part time jobs. Nothing paid over 8 dollars and felt like I was just stuck. It has been hard for me to get around because I dont have a drivers license. Mind you that I dont have one because
I drove on a suspended license for not having proof of insurance.   So that right there hinders a lot of things that I would be able to do that can help my wife out. It also hindered a lot of opportunities  for me getting a good Job. So of course that caused some problems in many areas of my life.

I have had some set backs and obstacles that caused some of the normal afflictions in life to be greater than they should. Some were because of poor choices and some were just unavoidable. Im just speaking about some of the things I went through to let you all know that you can make it. See some of the trials that occur
in our life we may not understand and we are left wondering why is this happening to me. But some people in life are chosen to go through some of these trials for other people so that they can either testify and help
the person and go through the trial with them, or to be a light to lead them away from the wrong path one could go down. Galatians 6:2 says that we are to share our brothers burden and thats what it is about helping one another through these tough times To encourage someone along the way, to be there for that
person in need when they feel they have no one else to turn to. We have to learn how to be more compassionate for all people and lead by the example that Jesus led and that example was done out of love.
So I challenge you to inspire, motivate, and encourage someone because you never know the impact you could make. Just that alone goes a long way with a person especially with someone who thinks that their is no one there but them.
